Congratulations are in order for Mohammed Tazbir Alam who was recently named and recognized as "Man of the Year" by the New York State Young Democrats.

Mohammed graduated with a B.A. in Political Science. While at The Colin Powell School, he helped establish the Roosevelt Institute Chapter, and was elected Executive Vice President of the student body.

Mohammed has previously showcased his skills by working for U.S. Senator Kristen Gillibrand, U.S. Congressman Charles Rangel, NYC Speaker Christine Quinn and in The White House, the New York Attorney General's Office, and the Center for American Progress.

He more recently completed a tenure as President of the Manhattan Young Democrats and is currently a law student at the University at Buffalo School of Law.

I am honored and humbled to receive the 2018 Man of the Year Award from the New York State Young Democrats. This an organization born from a desire to get involved because decisions that affected our future were being made without us. You are the young, scrappy and hungry leaders I look to, the voices that inspire me, and its your ideas that push us forward. In these trying times, we must all take up the mantle of leadership, to inspire each other when our government does not. And I am proud to stand with you today and every day.
